December 13, 2010

Hey Everyone!

I hope you all had a wonderful week and are as excited for the Christmas Season as I am! The weather is staying pretty consistently cold now. It get's especially cold when we get any moisture because the humidity sits extra thick for a few days.
Our top investigator Mo(Morgause) is right on track for her Christmas baptism. We are so excited for her it's ridiculous. She is already doing missionary work like crazy and she isn't even baptized yet. It's so sweet, we love her to death. She brings new friends to church every week. One of her friends, Kaelin, whom she brought to church yesterday, expressed to us that he wants to start taking the missionary lessons.
We had 2 baptisms basically fall into our laps yesterday. One is a 9 year old girl from a part member family. She wants to be baptized so badly that she constantly asks her mom about it. Her mom approached us at church and asked us to give her the lessons so she can be baptized as soon as possible. The second is a 17 year old guy named David. David spoke to the missionaries in another ward and figured out what his home ward was and came. He is very interested in being baptized. We gave him a Gospel Principles manual and he immediately turned to the section about baptism. He called us a few hours after church, very eager to set up an appointment with us. We'll be teaching him the first lesson and answering the questions he has tonight.
We are starting to get ahold of people that we've been trying to get ahold of since we arrived here in Longview. We turned 2 former investigators into new investigators this week. One of them is a gentleman named Charles. Charles is a really neat guy who has an awesome family. We are hoping to get the family involved in lessons in the future, but he is definitely a truth-seeker.
As always, thank you all for your thoughts and prayers in my behalf. I can feel your support each moment of service. I love you all very much and I continually pray for your success and happiness. As we approach Christmas, let your thoughts be drawn to the Savior and to serving him, by serving your fellow beings. If you find yourself having trouble embracing the Christmas spirit this year, do some service, and I promise that you will feel the spirit of Christ fill your heart. Until next time; be good, stay safe, and keep the faith!

Love,
