1.3.11

Happy New Year y'all!

I hope everyone's New Year was fun and safe! We had a fun get-together with our zone where we grilled steaks. It was a pretty fun time. We couldn't be out very late here in the Dallas Zone on New Years eve for safety reasons. On New Years morning however, Elder Low and I got out bright and early and knocked doors all morning and afternoon. We encountered a pretty high number of angrily slammed doors, so that's always fun. We met a lot of very hung-over people that morning... We did get into a couple doors and teach some lessons though. Our focus this week is turning our finding efforts into progressing investigators. We've been tracting and street contacting a lot because we walked into an empty teaching pool when we got here. We are having to get very creative in finding folks to teach, but it is making us stretch. It is challenging to fill our schedules some days, but we haven't had any dead time yet.
I haven't heard any word on my baptisms in Longview, so I'm hoping they go through without any problems. We set a baptismal date here with a lady named Vanessa, but we haven't been able to get in contact with her since setting the date. She has been having some legal issues, and we think that may be why we haven't heard from her. We are doing everything we can to help her get baptized though! Hopefully she'll be able to have it happen soon, if not on the date we've set at this point.
I wish I had more to report, but hopefully I'll have more news next week. As for now, I'll keep working my tail off and praying for results! Thank you all for your continued thoughts, prayers, and words on my behalf! I love you very much and I look forward to hearing more from each of you. Until next time; be good, stay safe, and keep the faith!

Love,

Elder Michael P. Lyman
