Hey Y'all!
As always, I hope this letter finds each of you happy and well. This past week has gone very well and the work rolls ever forward! Elder Low and I have been teaching a lot of lessons lately, in connection with our finding efforts. We have had a hard time, however, keeping our return appointments from fizzling out. It's been a little frustrating at times, but all is well.
As far as progressing investigators go, the only one that is really solid is still Rosa. She, Nate, and AJ all came to church again yesterday and this time they stayed for the entire block. AJ loved primary and we think he'll be more motivation for them to keep coming. Nate seemed to always have a smile on his face the entire 3 hours any time I saw him. He knew that he was exactly where he needed to be. It was really cool to see. I'm not sure how comfortable Rosa was at church, but we have a lesson with them tomorrow night, so we'll address any concerns then. I think it's only a matter of time before Rosa is baptized. We'll be extending the invitation tomorrow night, in fact.
We have another couple named Bobby and Karen that we are pretty excited about. We haven't gotten them to church yet, but we've taught 2 lessons and have a 3rd scheduled this week. They are both really neat people. Karen has had a lot of contact with the church through cub scouts. She also has a few friends that she's gone to relief society activities with throughout the years. They both seem like they really want to know if the Book of Mormon is true, so we're anxious to see them receive their answer.
On friday we had a large specialized training. Since we are in the Dallas zone, we were able to take the DART system (train and bus) to the meeing in Richardson. All the missionaries in the mission were in attendance except those serving out east. It's always fun to get together as a mission and see elders and sisters from past zones and districts. President and Sister Smith both gave great trainings. All in all it was a really fun day. It took forever to get home, even after we got off the train because traffic made driving back to our areas very slow. As a result, we didn't get to do a ton of work. We headed straight to dinner and then wend out finding before our nightly appointments. It was a bit of a mad rush to get all our work done that night, but we did it.
Today we are going back into Dallas on the train to check out the downtown. Elder Low and I are both pretty excited about going. I'll be sure to take a lot of pictures!
I'm sorry to cut my letter short, but I don't have much time, because we have to make the train station in about an hour and we haven't shopped yet. I love you all very much and I look forward to hearing more from each of you. Until next time; be good, stay safe, and keep the faith!
Love,
Elder Michael P. Lyman
Texas Dallas Mission
