Hey y'all,
I hope this week was good for everyone. Mine was a little slower than I'd like. I was battling a stomach flu for the better part of the week, and Elder Low and I experienced a lot of interruptions in the work this week as well. Some came in the form of district leader and zone leader exchanges, and also a zone blitz(which ate a TON of our miles...). So not much progress was made this week. Elder Low and I got a little frustrated at times, but Sunday meetings served to give us a nice recharge and we are ready to hit the streets again.
There are a lot of people whom we found and expressed interest but for one reason or another we lost contact with. Elder Low and I will be working on getting return appointments with those folks this week so we can feed our teaching pool.
We do have one "silver lining" family that we are working with, who showed up to church. Their names are Nathan(the dad), Rosa(the mom) and AJ(the 5 year old son). Nate is a less active member who hasn't been to church in several years. His wife is a non-member, whom Nate is encouraging to take the lessons. We aren't exactly sure what her level of interest is, but they seem to enjoy having us over, so that's a start at least. Nate is a great guy and his current goal is to be a worthy priesthood holder again so he can baptize AJ when he comes of age. Nate has a few obstacles to overcome, but he definitely has the desire. We have an appointment with them tonight so hopefully all goes well!
Time is still just sliding on by at a ridiculous rate. In a few days I'll already have been out 6 months. It's insane! I feel like I've been out 6 days! I'm sweating this upcoming transfer because I've already been moved around so much, I don't know what to expect. It's in the Lord's hands I suppose!
This e-mail is coming to you from Bishop Peal's home today. He is the bishop of the Grand Prairie 1st ward and is just a fantastic guy. The libraries are all closed today for Martin Luther King Jr. Day so Bishop Peal was kinda enough to allow us to use a couple of their computers for a bit.
Well, I'm sorry I don't have a whole lot to report this week. I don't like it any more than you do, I promise! We'll be working our tails off this week now that I'm healthy again and we don't anticipate any interruptions. Hopefully that means I'll have more progress to relate next week. I love you all very much and I am praying always for your continued happiness and well-being. Thank you for everything each of you does, both seen and unseen on my behalf. I feel your love and support each and every day. Until next time; be good, stay safe, and keep the faith!
Love,
Love,
Elder Michael P. Lyman
