It was great to get to talk to those of you that I did yesterday. It sounds like everyone is doing well! I'm so grateful for all the many mothers who have influenced my life over the few years of my mortal existence. I'm most thankful for my own mother. Seen and unseen acts of kindness, love, and service have shaped me into who I am today. I hope every mother who reads this had a wonderful mother's day. And if not, take a mulligan! I love you mom!
The weather has been warming up a bit. The temp has been in the low to mid 90s pretty consistently and it won't be long until it is HOT. Joy... At least I'm in a car(for now...*knock on wood*)!
This week was expectantly busy. Elder Layton spent a lot of time this week with part member, recent convert, and less-active families. There are a few families in each ward whom we are hoping to begin teaching so that they can receive the blessings of the temple in a completed, eternal family. Sunday was a little disappointing in that we didn't have any investigators make it to church. The next 2 weeks should be better as far as I can tell, so here's hoping! If all goes well, we should have our hands full with lessons this week also. On the bright side, although we didn't teach a ton of investigator lessons this week, the turnover rate was also 0 this week. We didn't have to drop a single investigator. With the amount of finding we do, our drop rate tends to be fairly constant as we do our best to prayerfully determine who is prepared enough and has the desire to be worth our immediate attention. Dropping investigators is one of my least favorite things to do...
I hope to have more exciting news for the next letter, so stay tuned! I love you all and I can't wait to hear more from each of you soon. Until next time; be good, stay safe, and keep the faith y'all!
Love,
Elder Michael P. Lyman
