Hey again y'all,
I hope this e-mail finds each of you happy and well. Sounds like there is a lot going on just about everywhere. The mission field is no exception.
This week absolutely blew by me. Things are still not going the way I'd like them to. We had many more cancellations and we're finding ourselves tracting more than we'd like to nearly every day. I guess this is what we get for neglecting to do so while we were teaching the masses. Maybe Elder Petty can learn a very important principle from this blunder of an experience; never stop finding! I should have known better than to let the area slide into the cycle we're in now, but there's no use cryin' about it now. Just gotta hit the streets harder is all. I'll let you know how our finding frenzy is coming along as we move forward.
It's the last week of the transfer, so both Elder Petty and I are anxious to see what happens. We've loved serving together and have seen lots of success. Elder Petty is a really great missionary and he's going to be a great leader very soon.
Our top investigators are still doing quite well. Our lesson with Soany this week was fantastic. We taught her about the Plan of Salvation and she absolutely ate it up. She has a testimony of the Book of Mormon already even though she isn't even familiar with the names yet. Her only hangup is that she is very addicted to coffee. We are hoping and praying to set a date for the last weekend of this month, so fingers crossed!
Yesterday was the Dallas Stake's stake conference. Elder Golden of the 1st Quorum of the Seventy was visiting and spoke in the sessions. From what I hear he gave some great talks at all stages of the conference. He spoke a lot about his life back in Africa and shared some pretty cute stories about his family.
I got to see lots of familiar faces at stake conference. It was really fun to see how everyone has changed in the Grand Prairie wards in the past year.
I'm sorry there's still not much to report, but we're working hard. I'm sure we will see some more success soon. I love you all and I will talk to you again next week. Until next time; be good, stay safe and keep the faith!
Love,
Elder Michael P. Lyman
