April 16, 2012

Hey everyone,

I hope you all had a good week! Sure did fly by on my end! Elder Mitchell and I are off to a pretty decent start. I don't really know the area that well, so we're taking some time to get to know the leaders of the three wards amidst our proselyting time. There are a few part member families that we are going to start working with soon. I'm pretty excited to get into their homes and teach them. I really love Allen.
On Saturday I had the opportunity to perform Veronica's baptism in Spanish! It was a lot of fun to be back in Irving. It's strange to think I was only there a couple weeks ago. It feels like an eternity! Veronica's baptism was such a great experience and I'm so thrilled for her.  She is an amazing example to her family and I know her children will follow her into the waters of baptism soon. Two of her sons were at the baptism and they are both enjoying coming to church on Sunday. I didn't speak to many people except Veronica before the baptism because they were all from the Spanish ward. After the ordinance, apparently my pronunciation was good enough that most of the people there thought I spoke Spanish. I had several people come up to me and attempt to initiate conversation in Spanish. It was kind of funny. Veronica thought so anyway.
I don't have a lot to report this week. Nicole has a baptismal date for the 5th of May still, and we are praying for her mother's heart to be softened. She is still struggling gaining her support. Heather is losing her fire, unfortunately and has postponed her baptism until further notice. Hopefully we will be able to discern what her real concerns are so we can help her overcome them. It would be so great to see that family coming to church together.
I love you all and I'll talk to you later! Until next time; be good, stay safe, and keep the faith!

 Love,
