Hey all,
I hope everyone has had a happy and productive week! This week has been a definite improvement from the last few for Elder Miller and me.
We found a new investigator by the name of Cammarae (good luck) this past week. She is only our investigator for the moment, and will then be passed on to the missionaries who cover her home town. She is in school at the local college in Athens and is taking a religious studies class. One evening as we were at the church meeting with our Ward Mission Leader, we received a note from Cammarae that she’d left on the front door of the chapel. She asked if the missionaries could get in touch with her so that she could interview us for a project she’s doing in the religion course. We contacted her and spent an hour with her for a few nights in a row giving her a good overview of the Church. We then taught her the Restoration and invited her to formally take the lessons, which she accepted. Elder Miller and I will be going into her class this evening to give a 20 minute presentation on what sets us apart. Essentially we get to teach the first lesson to 20+ people. I’m really excited to see how it goes! I’ve been invited many times to speak at schools of religious study and churches (by students and members, respectively) but never has one of those invitations been backed by the higher-ups at said institutions. This should be a pretty neat opportunity. Hopefully the spirit can catch someone’s attention as we give our short presentation.
There’s not a lot else going on at the moment, we are just trying to rebuild our teaching pool every chance we get. We receive more and more referrals from the members here, so it’s good to know that they trust us. I love this work and I am so grateful for the gift that it is to be able to share the knowledge of Christ’s eternal gift with everyone I meet. I love you all and I look forward to hearing from you again soon! Until next time; be good, stay safe, and keep the faith!
Love,
Elder Michael P. Lyman
