10-10-11

Hey everybody,

First thing's first; I'm not being transferred. Looks like I get to work on my spanish with Elder Guerrero for 6 more weeks! Hopefully I'll be able to see some of these wonderful people we've been finding and teaching enter the waters of baptism. I have very high hopes for a number of them.
This week was a little frustrating, we had more appointments fall through, and were let down by a few investigators in amazing ways on Sunday morning. We did have an unexpected visitor at church Sunday, however. Norberto(a spanish speaking investigator) came, much to our surprise. Norberto and his family have been investigating the Church off and on for about 8 years. They seemed pretty cold at last check, but he definitely surprised us. He came alone, but stayed for all 3 hours. It isn't every week that we get to sit in on the Spanish speaking Sunday school.
After church, Elder Guerrero and I dropped by an investigator named Sandra and her Daughter Jackie. Sandra is someone we tracted out a couple weeks ago, but have had a hard time getting in touch with her. We were finally able to catch her at her friend's house. We will be giving her a tour of the church building this week(something we've been having pretty good success with lately) and she's pretty excited to learn more. Jackie is pretty funny. She's in 2nd grade and every time we see her she has to give us a "surprise". This means she runs in the house, grabs some mystery treat and makes us close our eyes while she puts it in our hands. So far she has given us popsicles, Capri Suns, Jell-o pudding packs, and gum. She get's so excited if she sees us walking to the door or if we run into her with her mom around town.
I've got to run but I love you all very much! I can't wait to hear from you again soon! Until next time; be good, stay safe, and keep the faith!

Love,
